How the data is built

Sources

The list of winners is the EIC Accelerator results table maintained by Rasph, updated after every published result: 841 awards to 831 companies across 14 cut-offs, from June 2021 to May 2026. Each row holds the company, the project acronym and description, the funding type, the website, the country and the cut-off date.

What happened to a company after its award comes from the beneficiary deep dives on Rasph, one researched article per company, built from company registers, CORDIS, the company's own publications and independent news. Each article carries a structured record (status, scaling, delivery, verdict) that this site reads; every status links to its source.

Companies and awards

A company is counted once, even if it won twice. Names are grouped by their legal name without the legal form (GmbH, BV, SAS and so on), so a company listed once as "Cellevate" and once as "CELLEVATE AB" is one company with two awards. Funding labels are normalised to four types: blended finance, grant first, grant only and equity only. Countries follow the official results; "Czech Republic" is shown as Czechia.

Outcome status

• Active: Operating, with public evidence (news, filings, product, hiring) from the last 12 months
• Acquired: Bought by another company
• Merged: Merged into another entity
• Listed: Publicly listed after the award
• Pivoted: Same company, but its main business is no longer the funded technology
• Dormant: Not dissolved, but no public activity or filings for 18 months or more
• Insolvent: Insolvency proceedings opened, per the company register
• Closed: Dissolved, liquidated or struck off
• Unknown: Checked, but the status cannot be confirmed

A company without a deep dive has no status here. It is shown as not yet checked, never as active.

Signs of scaling

• Scaling: Public evidence of growth since the award: more staff, rising revenue, a new funding round, or production or customers at scale
• Not scaling: Evidence of standing still or shrinking: flat or falling staff, losses without a new round, or layoffs
• Scaling unclear: No numbers are public, which is common for 2025 and 2026 awards

Promise vs delivery

• Delivered: The funded product or milestone exists publicly
• Partly delivered: Part of what the project promised is publicly visible
• Not delivered: The project ended and there is no evidence of the promised result
• Too early: The project is still running
• Unclear: No public evidence either way

Reading the outcome numbers

Rasph checks the winners one by one, in the order of the results table, so the companies covered first are not a random sample of all winners. Every outcome number therefore states how many companies it is based on. Shares are shown only once at least 50 companies are checked (10 per cohort for survival). A check older than 12 months is marked on the company card.

The map

Country outlines are from Natural Earth. Each dot is one company, placed in a cluster around the centre of its country: the dots show how many companies a country has, not where they are located.

Updates and corrections

The data is rebuilt whenever Rasph adds a cut-off or a deep dive. If a fact about your company is wrong or out of date, please write to us through the contact page with a public source, and we will pass it on to Rasph.
