Connecting Food and the EIC Accelerator: Traced, Then Liquidated
Connecting Food, founded in 2016 near Paris, sold software that tracks food products and their ingredients from farm to shelf, recording the data on a blockchain so that brands and retailers can prove where their products come from. Its named customers included Mondelez, Herta, Axéréal and Coop Italia.
The European Innovation Council granted €2,500,000 towards DIGI-TRUSTY, "Digital twins of food products unleashing transparency", a €3.59 million project that ran from August 2023 to July 2025. According to the CORDIS report, it built automated data standardisation, supply-chain traceability and digital supplier audits. In December 2024, sixteen months into the project, a court opened a safeguard procedure for the company; in December 2025 this became receivership, and on 6 January 2026 the court ordered judicial liquidation, according to the official gazette notices.

What Happened to Connecting Food
The French official gazette, BODACC, records three court decisions. On 10 December 2024 the court opened a safeguard procedure, a French process that protects a company still able to pay its debts while it reorganises. On 9 December 2025 it converted this into receivership (redressement judiciaire), used when a company can no longer pay. On 6 January 2026 it converted that into judicial liquidation and appointed a liquidator in Versailles. The list of creditors' claims was filed in January 2026. No buyer for the business or its technology has been announced.

The Technology: A Digital Twin for Each Batch
The CORDIS report describes "digital twins linking farm and production data to finished products at batch-level", data standardised to the GS1 EPCIS industry norm, and a blockchain providing "control of consent, ownership and confidentiality" for shared data. Its supplier audits could be configured for safety, environmental or social criteria. The company said its customers each assessed "approximately 15,000 actors" in their supplier bases through the platform.

Digital twins of food products to unleash supply-chain transparency.
What the record shows
A delivered platform, court protection during the project, and liquidation six months after it ended.
