DoMore Diagnostics and the EIC Accelerator: AI to Guide Chemotherapy
DoMore Diagnostics, based in Oslo, makes Histotype Px Colorectal, a deep-learning test that reads ordinary haematoxylin and eosin-stained tumour slides to predict how patients with stage II and III colorectal cancer will fare, helping doctors decide who needs chemotherapy after surgery. The EIC Accelerator granted €2,500,000 towards a total cost of €5,326,968 for the Histotype Px project, which runs from June 2024 to May 2027, according to CORDIS. The project report calls it "the world's first CE-marked AI-based digital biomarker" for treatment decisions in these cancers.
By May 2025, the report says, DoMore had completed analyses and publications validating the test in hospitals in Europe, the US and Japan, alone and combined with liquid biopsy, and developed a secure cloud portal, with a first submission for inclusion in clinical guidelines expected in 2025, according to CORDIS. Data from a Dutch cohort were presented orally at ESMO in 2025, and results on predicting chemotherapy benefit were presented at ASCO GI in January 2026, according to DoMore. DoMore's 2025 accounts show revenue of NOK 185,444 and nine employees, according to the Brønnøysund Register Centre. No guideline inclusion has been announced.

Where DoMore Stands Now
In August 2026 DoMore announced a collaboration with the IFOM cancer institute in Milan to validate Histotype Px combined with circulating tumour DNA, and earlier collaborations with the French FFCD group and Erasmus MC. The Research Council of Norway awarded it NOK 16 million, under its 2024 call, for a project with Oslo University Hospital to combine the test with ctDNA and develop a new biomarker for residual disease, according to DoMore. It has been granted patents in the US, Japan and Korea.
The record
A CE-marked AI test, still building its evidence
DoMore's EIC project runs until May 2027. Its test is CE-marked, but sales in 2025 were small and guideline inclusion has not been announced.

"Clinical data show strong performance of the Histotype Px biomarker both in treated and non-treated patients, underscoring the potential predictive value of the test."
DoMore Diagnostics, EIC project reportThe Technology: Reading Slides Pathologists Already Make
After surgery for stage II or III colon cancer, doctors must decide whether chemotherapy is worth its side effects. DoMore's partner IFOM says current criteria leave many patients undertreated or overtreated. Histotype Px uses deep learning on the standard stained slides every hospital already produces, so no extra tissue or lab test is needed. The EIC project also aims to show it predicts who benefits from chemotherapy, not just who is at risk.

What the EIC Award Promised, and What the Record Shows
The project runs until May 2027, so it is too early to judge it. It has produced wider clinical validation and conference data. The step that would drive sales, inclusion in treatment guidelines, was expected to be submitted in 2025, and no outcome has been announced.

What Cannot Be Checked
Questions for the EIC
Whether the EIC Fund invested, whether guideline bodies have reviewed Histotype Px and how many tests have been sold are not public.
Why Europe Should Care
A test that spares low-risk patients unnecessary chemotherapy, and flags high-risk patients who need it, would improve care and save money. DoMore's approach needs no new hardware in hospitals. It will only change practice if guidelines adopt it.
What the award promised
A validated AI biomarker guiding colorectal cancer treatment.
What the record shows
More validation data, a CE mark and almost no revenue.
The Verdict
Evidence growing, sales not yet
DoMore has growing clinical data and a CE mark. Sales remain minimal while guideline inclusion is pending.
