Invivo Bionics and the EIC Accelerator: A Bladder Sensor Waits
Invivo Bionics, founded in Oslo in 2018, wants bladder pressure measured over weeks of normal life. It built PRESSURO: a MEMS pressure sensor under 1 mm wide, inserted into the bladder through the lower abdomen, that records pressure for up to 30 days while the patient lives normally and streams the data to the cloud over 4G, according to the company. Its EIC project put the number of people with urinary dysfunction at 900 million.
The European Innovation Council granted €2,499,000 towards a €6.8 million project from November 2022 to October 2024. The final report says the sensor probe, data logger and software reached design freeze, passed biocompatibility, electrical safety and sterilisation tests, and were validated in hospitals in Norway and Germany; 11 patents were granted. It said a monitoring tool was "on track for release in 2025". In 2025 the company raised an undisclosed equity round and got ISO 13485 certification, according to its news page. It has announced no CE Mark and no launch.

Where Invivo Bionics Stands Now
On 11 August 2025 Invivo Bionics said it had closed an oversubscribed equity round, raising more than it had first sought, without giving the amount. Its book equity rose from NOK 5.4 million to NOK 14.3 million over 2025, according to its accounts on Proff. Two weeks after the round it announced ISO 13485 certification for its in-house production. Its clinical page names partner urologists in Spain and Germany and says more than 20 urologists are on a waiting list to use PRESSURO; it publishes no study results.
The record
A bladder sensor at design freeze, not yet on the market
Invivo Bionics ended its EIC project in 2024 with the system at design freeze. It raised equity and got ISO 13485 in 2025, but has announced no CE Mark.

The Technology: A Bladder Diary Written by a Sensor
The sensor is a 4 French probe placed suprapubically, with an external patch that stores and sends the data. The company targets men with enlarged prostates, people with incontinence or neurogenic bladder, and children with voiding problems. The report cites the claim that "80% of patients can be cured or treated with the correct diagnosis", without a source for it.

What the EIC Project Promised, and What CORDIS Shows
The EIC project
The EU paid 37% of a €6.8M project
PRESSURO ran from November 2022 to October 2024.
CORDIS project 190154656. Values in € millions.
The project set out to bring a sensor system for 30-day bladder monitoring to market. It finished the engineering and safety testing and ran clinical validation, but the report gives no patient numbers or results. The step that turns a device into a product in Europe, CE marking, has not been announced two years after the project ended.

The Money
Invivo Bionics has lost money every year since 2021. Operating income peaked at NOK 25.1 million in 2023, during the EIC project, and fell to NOK 1.4 million in 2025; the accounts summary does not split sales from other income. The net loss was NOK 11.9 million in 2024 and NOK 3.4 million in 2025. The EIC grant covered 37% of the project; the company had to fund the other €4.3 million.

What Cannot Be Checked
Questions for the EIC
How many patients were monitored in the Norwegian and German trials and with what results, when a CE application will be filed, and how the €4.3 million own contribution was financed are not public.
Why Europe Should Care
The EIC funded a Norwegian company with an idea that could change how bladder problems are diagnosed. The engineering is done; the product is still not available to European urologists, and the company is small, with six employees.
What the project promised
A sensor system for 30-day bladder monitoring, ready for release in 2025.
What the record shows
Design freeze, safety tests, an undisclosed 2025 round, ISO 13485 and no CE Mark or launch.
The Verdict
Engineered, not launched
Invivo Bionics used the EIC money to finish the device. It has not taken the last step to market, and its accounts summary, which does not split sales from other income, shows operating income of NOK 1.4 million in 2025.
